Entries for the 2023 All-Ireland finals now open

This year’s All-Irelands finals will be hosted by Cloone show on Monday 7th August. A first-time venue for the Associations finals which is again very kindly sponsored by Univet Ireland.

Detailed below is the full Aberdeen Angus schedule along with class numbers and conditions.

 

CLASSES FOR ALL IRELAND ABERDEEN-ANGUS CHAMPIONSHIP

To be held at Cloone Show on Monday 7th August 2023

Sponsored by Univet Ireland Ltd., Cootehill, Co Cavan

The All Ireland Champion will receive €250 and Veterinary Products sponsored by Univet Ireland Ltd, and the ALL IRELAND PERPETUAL TROPHY.

Reserve All Ireland Champion will receive €130 and Veterinary Products sponsored by Univet, and Rosette.

Senior Champion to receive Perpetual Trophy and Rosette presented in memory of the late Mrs S.W. Henderson.

Junior Champion to receive Perpetual Trophy and Rosette presented in memory of the late Mr Larry Crawford.

 

PRIZES IN EACH CLASS ARE:

1st   –    €120 plus veterinary products

2nd  –    € 80  plus veterinary products

3rd   –    € 40 plus veterinary products

4th  –     € 20 plus veterinary products

All competing animals must be registered in the herd book of the Irish Aberdeen Angus Association or the herd book of the Irish Angus Cattle Society.

All young stockperson entrants must have competed in a YDP workshop during the summer of 2023 and be signed up as a junior member of the Association. Junior membership for all competing young stock people will be free of charge for the first year.

 

Senior Stockperson.  Aberdeen Angus animal to be shown by a person who has reached 17 years of age and is not over 25 on the 1/1/23

Class 80 – Pedigree Aberdeen Angus bull born before 1st September 2021           

Class 81 – Pedigree Aberdeen Angus Bull born between 1st September 2021 and 31st July 2022

Class 82 – Pedigree Aberdeen Angus Bull born between 1st August 2022 and 31st December 2022

Class 83 – Pedigree Aberdeen Angus Bull born between 1st January 2023 and 31st March 2023

Class 84 – Pedigree Aberdeen Angus Cow with her calf at foot born before 1st September 2020

Class 85 – Pedigree Aberdeen Angus Cow with her calf at foot born on or after 1st September 2020

Class 86 – Pedigree Aberdeen Angus Heifer born between 1st January 2021 and 31st December 2021

Class 87 – Pedigree Aberdeen Angus Heifer born between 1st January 2022 and 31st July 2022

Class 88 – Pedigree Aberdeen Angus Heifer born between 1st August 2022 and 31st of Dec 2022

Class 89 – Pedigree Aberdeen Angus Heifer born between 1st January 2023 and 31st March 2023

Class 90 – Pedigree Aberdeen Angus Bull or Heifer born on or after 1st April 2023

Class 91  – Best Matching Pair of Pedigree Aberdeen Angus Animals shown from one exhibitor

 

Please note:

Classes 3 and 9 will be split into two if numbers entered exceed 10.

Class 11 will be split into male and female if numbers are sufficient.

Winners from classes 1 and 5 will compete for the Senior championship.

Winners from classes, 2, 6, 7 and 8 will compete for the intermediate championship.

Winners from classes 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11 will compete for the junior championship.

Champion from each section, and reserve if called on by the judge, will then compete for the supreme championship.

The IAAA reserves the right to weigh any or all animals exhibiting at the finals.

All first prize-winners will be photographed following the judging. Any first prize-winners not photographed, forfeit their prizemoney.
