The Irish Aberdeen Angus Association is delighted to announce that entries are now being taken for this National calf show.
The event will again return to Mid-Tipp mart in Thurles and takes place on the later date of November 22nd.
This event will see 10 classes and five championships with entries open to all pedigree Angus in southern Ireland.
First prize winner in each of the 11 classes walks away with €150, followed by €100 for 2nd, €50 for 3rd and €25 for fourth.
First and second prize-winners from each of the respective classes will then fight it out in the Zurich championships which are the senior male, senior female, junior male and junior female championships. Champion in each of these four championships will secure another €100 with the reserve taking home €50.
Finally, the crème la de crème will fight it out in the Angus Beef Ireland supreme National calf show championship. Winner here will take home an additional €200 and the brand new Joe Tighe Memorial Cup with reserve securing €100.
New for 2025 is our young handler competition which boasts an impressive prize fund and prizes right down the line! These two classes focus on our younger members with an under 12 class and a 12-16 class. Entry for this competition is just €5.
Prizemoney as follows: 1st €200, 2nd €150, 3rd €100, 4th €50 and €20 down the line for all other participants along with a goodie bag

Class 1 – Bull born 1st August 2024 to 30th September 2024
Class 2 – Heifer born 1st August 2024 to 30th September 2024
Class 3 – Bull born 1st October 2024 to 30th November 2024
Class 4 – Heifer born 1st October 2024 to 30th November 2024
Class 5 – Bull born 1st December 2024 to 31st January 2025
Class 6 – Heifer born 1st December 2024 to 31st January 2054
Class 7 – Bull born 1st February 2025 to 31st March 2025
Class 8 – Heifer born 1st February 2025 to 31st March 2025
Class 9 – Bull born 1st April 2025 onwards
Class 10 – Heifer born 1st April 2025 onwards
The IAAA reserve the right to amalgamate some classes if numbers are not sufficient. Prizes may be made up in some part by vouchers from sponsors.
All prize-winners securing prizemoney will be weighed on the day.
Entry fees are €20 per entry and will be added to your account. Those who are not members, entry fees must be paid before entry to show ring.
