The National Aberdeen-Angus Calf Show is due to take place at the Showgrounds, Carrick-On-Shannon, Co. Leitrim on Saturday, October 13th at 10am. The showing classes will kick-off with two young handler classes (one junior and one senior) which will be followed by 10 individual national male and female calf classes. A supreme male and supreme female calf championship will also be awarded later in the day with total prize money for the event standing at just over €4000. The show is also open to pedigree Aberdeen-Angus calves from Northern Ireland is one of the few events on the pedigree show circuit, in addition to the All-Ireland Aberdeen-Angus Championships, that attracts cattle from both sides of the border. It is expected that several of the prize-winning calves from the summer show circuit will be in attendance and it promises to be a terrific showcase of the future stars of the Aberdeen-Angus breed in Ireland.
