This is a high health status herd, with all bulls vaccinated for IBR, BVD, Lepto and Triovax 10. They will be semen tested prior to sale.

Owned by Leo McEnroe, Virginia, County Cavan, the Lisduff prefix dates back to female bloodlines established Bartle McEnroe in 1948.  “For almost 70 years we have been striving towards keeping the breed’s traditional traits to the fore,” explained Leo McEnroe.

The herd has been fully accredited with the ICBF Gene Ireland Maternal Programme since it was introduced.  Leo added: “The bulls catalogued have top maternal and terminal indexes and star ratings to suit all types of herds, including dairy, suckler and pedigree herds. “

Leo McEnroe is extending an open invitation to all prospective customers to view the bulls on-farm at Lisduff, Maghera, Virginia, on Saturday 4th April from 12.30pm to 3.30pm. “Anyone interested in buying a bull can come along and see the bulls on parade, and mark their catalogues.

“Customers who cannot attend the sale can place telephone bids with the auctioneers, and all cattle purchased in the buyers absence will be delivered by the vendor.”

The AGM of the Munster Aberdeen Angus Club took place at the Firgrove Hotel, Mitchelstown on Tuesday, February 17th, 2015.

2015 will be an exciting year for the Munster Aberdeen Angus Club as the All Ireland Aberdeen Angus Championships will return to the Munster region for the first time since 2011. The club also endeavors to run the annual Munster herds competition this year and will host a regional Youth Development (YDP) training day for young Angus breeders and cattle enthusiasts, which will be held during the summer months.

The Munster Club is indebted to both Paul & Ciaran for all their hard work and positive contribution to the club over the last number of years.

Albert DeCogan of the Mogeely Herd was elected as the new Chairperson of the Munster Club and Edward Dudley of the Castlelough Herd was elected as Secretary for the coming term. We wish them both well in their respective roles.
